On November 28, 1914: The New York Stock Exchange reopened for bond trading after a war-induced closure in July which lasted nearly four months.

ADVERTISING’S PIE IN THE SKY

On November 28, 1922: The first skywriting used for advertising in the US was demonstrated over Times Square. Captain Cyril Turner of the Royal Airforce spelled out “Hello, U.S.A. Call Vanderbilt 7200″ in white smoke. 47,000 people called in response to the message.
