LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, SIMON & GARFUNKEL!

On September 19, 1981: Folk rock icons Simon & Garfunkel reunited for a free benefit concert in Central Park. The concert attracted a crowd of more than 500,000 to the Great Lawn. The recording of the concert was released the next year and was the first live album by the duo.

BORN ON THIS DAY: JIMMY FALLON

On September 19, 1974: Actor, comedian, SNL alum, and Late Night host Jimmy Fallon was born in Brooklyn. Fallon will replace Jay Leno as host of The Tonight Showย in 2014, bringing the show back to NYC.
