On December 27, 1932: Radio City Music Hall opened at Rockefeller Center. Developed by John D. Rockefeller, Radio City Music Hall was designed by architect Edward Durell Stone and interior designer Donald Desky. The building itself is noted for being representative of the prominent Art Deco art and design style of the era.

On December 27, 1964: Actor Ian Gomez, known for this roles on Felicity and Cougar Town, was born in New York City. Gomez first gained widespread recognition for his work on The Drew Carey Show and subsequently Curb Your Enthusiasm. He is married to Nina Vardalos, with whom he appeared in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. 


On December 27, 1970: The musical Hello, Dolly!, winner of 10 Tony Awards, closed on Broadway after 2,844 performances. The original cast recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2002, and the production’s 1969 film adaption was nominated for seven Academy Awards.
