IVANKA TRUMP

On October 30, 1981: Model and businesswoman Ivanka Trump was born in New York City to parents Ivana and Donald Trump. She was featured on the cover of Seventeen, has appeared as a judge on The Apprentice, and currently serves as Executive Vice President of  The Trump Organization.

 

FORD DIDN’T TELL THE CITY TO DROP DEAD

On October 30, 1975: The Daily News ran the incendiary headline “Ford to City: Drop Dead,” after the President declared that he would veto any bill that would bail out New York City. However, a 2006 New York Times article claimed he never specifically declared that the City should “drop dead.”

On October 30, 1970: Actress Nia Long was born in Brooklyn. She is known for her roles in Big Momma’s HouseThe Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Friday, and Third Watch. She also won three NAACP awards and one for her work in Third Watch.
