VAN WYCK

On February 24, 1900: New York City mayor Robert Anderson Van Wyck signed the contract to begin work on New York’s first rapid transit tunnel. The tunnel linked Manhattan to Brooklyn. The ground breaking ceremony took place at City Hall in March of the same year.

THOSE WERE THE DAYS

On February 24, 1991: The Broadway musical Those Were The Days closed at the Edison Theater after 126 performances. The musical was directed and choreographed by Eleanor Reissa and was nominated for two Tony Awards.
