KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR

On February 13, 2002: Former New York mayor and native Rudolph Giuliani received an honorary knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II. Unfortunately, he cannot be called “Sir Rudolph,” but he was awarded a medal that made him a Knight of the British Empire.

On February 13, 1972: The Broadway musical, 1776 closed at 46th Street Theater after 1,217 performances. Based on events surrounding the signing of the Declaration of Independence, it was nominated for five Tony Awards and won three, including Best Musical.
