WHEN JOHN LENNON COULD BE HEARD ON THE AIR

On September 28, 1974: John Lennon appeared as a guest DJ on New York’s WNEW radio station. After reading aloud the weather report, Lennon brought along records that he played over the air, many of which were obscure rock and roll records.


NYC MARATHON GOLD

On September 28, 1975: American runner Tom Fleming earned the gold medal in the 6th New York City Marathon with the time 2:19:27. He was also a two-time runner-up in the Boston Marathon.
