DJ WEBSTAR

On October 25, 1986: The man responsible for the 2006 internet smash hit “Chicken Noodle Soup,” DJ Webstar, was born in Harlem. The song’s popularity led him to be signed by Universal Music. His most recent single was released in 2010 and is titled “Tipsy.”

 

WHEN THREE BECOME ONE

On October 25, 1929: Groundbreaking for the construction of the Triborough Bridge began in Astoria Park. It was built to connect Manhattan, Queens, and theBronx, and opened to traffic seven years later.Today the bridge carries around 165,000 passengers each day.

On October 25, 1990: The New York Daily News went on strike. It lasted until March of 1991 and turned violent at its start when roughly 200 drivers attacked vehicles at the plant. The New York Daily News, at the time of the strike, was the country’s second-largest metropolitan daily newspaper.
