On November 26, 1942: Casablanca premiered at the Hollywood Theater in New York City. The film was initially scheduled to be released in 1943, but the release date was moved up in order to coincide with the Allied invasion of North Africa and the capture of Casablanca.


SANDY’S $32 BILLION PRICE TAG

On November 26, 2012: Governor Cuomo announced that Hurricane Sandy cost New York State $32 billion in damage and loss. This included the $19 billion in losses that Mayor Bloomberg announced that the storm caused in New York City.
