On Septermber 4, 1964: Politician Anthony Weiner was born in Brooklyn. After being a highly lauded politician as a representative to Congress for NY’s 9th congressional district, Weiner’s career tumbled when he was caught sending racy photographs via text and Twitter to various women.


12,000 STRONG AGAINST SWEATSHOP CONDITIONS

On September 4, 1894: 12,000 tailors went on strike against the sweatshop system in New York City. Labor leaders cited sweatshops as being overcrowded, susceptible to fire and rat infestations, and poorly ventilated. These issues continue globally in the present day.
