A BEASTIE BOY IS BORN
On October 31, 1966: Adam Horovitz, also known as “Ad-Rock” was born in Manhattan. He joined the Beastie Boys when he was only 16 years old and replaced John Berry. The group has become a New York City icon, and the Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

On October 31, 2010: President John F. Kennedy’s speechwriter and special counsel Ted Sorensen died at age 82 in New York City, following a stroke. He was renowned for the speeches he wrote, including JFK’s inaugural address.
