While We’re Young

The ever-popular category of “dramadies” has a new entry in the film While We’re Young. Starring Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts, Adam Driver, and Amanda Seyfried, While We’re Young follows a New York City filmmaker and his wife whose lives are turned upside down when they start spending time with a pair of free-spirited 20-somethings.

While We’re Young gives a window into middle-aged life — in the heart of hipster motherland, Brooklyn, no less — and explores the concept that age is just a number. Is “young” a state of mind?

“See You Again” from Furious 7, Wiz Khalifa feat. Charlie Puth

The much-anticipated release of the latest installment in the Fast & Furious film series, Furious 7, comes with a soundtrack that features a bevy of music’s heavy hitters, including Iggy Azalea (rumored to make a cameo in the film), T.I., and David Guetta.

However, it’s Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again,” a poignant and heartfelt tribute to the late Paul Walker, that’s been garnering the most attention. Both sad and inspiring, “See You Again” is stirring and emotional, and also features the talents of YouTube sensation Charlie Puth.

In the month of April, Mondays are going to be something to look forward to. The Hum is starting their month-long residency at Manhattan Inn on April 6, featuring all female collaborations between musicians and visual artists. I like to look for a wide variety of music at larger shows like this, and The Hum has done it — from the pop sounds of Teletextile to the more punk music of Brainfreeze. And to add to the fun, each week a different artist will be playing projections over the bands’ sets.

Did I mention it’s free?
