The much anticipated Disney film Maleficent is a live-action retelling of the classic animated film, Sleeping Beauty, centered around the latter’s villainess, Maleficent. Angelina Jolie’s performance as the title character has been highly touted by the movie’s fans and critics alike, and it was the best performing midnight premiere among Disney’s recent live-action films. A darker take on the childhood tale, Maleficent aims to entertain children and adults alike as they “find out the truth.”

“Do It Again” by Royksopp & Robyn

With several Grammy Award nominations between them, it should come as no surprise that Norwegian duo Röyksopp and Swedish superstar Robyn’s mini-album “Do It Again” is as good as it is. Fans (including those of you who don’t want to admit it) of hit songs “Call Your Girlfriend” and “Dancing on My Own” will especially enjoy the title track, in all its feel good, jump around in your underwear, Robyn-ie electropop goodness. Go ahead and dance. We won’t tell.

Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken

Sometimes, you just need fried chicken, beach-body be damned. Whether tenders, drumsticks, or on a bun, there’s no wrong way to enjoy the “world famous chicken” at Blue Ribbon. The restaurant, located in the East Village, is open late, making it the perfect post-bar indulgence. And for those of us who know the paralyzing, panic-inducing dilemma of trying to choose a dipping sauce, fear not. Blue Ribbon has squeeze bottles of all their delicious condiments generously scattered throughout the dining room (the Chipotle Honey will knock your socks off). Oh, and just in case you still aren’t convinced (and really, it’s fried chicken!), the menu also offers a selection of beer and wine, including New York’s own Brooklyn Lager.

A Million Ways to Die in the West

A Million Ways to Die in the West boasts a star-studded ensemble cast of Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy Award winners, as well as the film’s writer and director, Seth MacFarlane. While probably not a frontrunner for any Academy Awards, MacFarlane’s fans will no doubt enjoy it, as A Million Ways to Die in the West delivers the same blend of witty and juvenile humor that made his animated series Family Guy such a hit. Hear that? Sounds like you and the bros just found plans for your next ‘man date.’
