BIRTH CONTROL NOW IN BROOKLYN

On October 19, 1916: Margaret Sanger opened the first ever family planning and birth control clinic at 46 Amboy Street in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn. Sanger was later arrested for breaking a NY state law that prohibited the distribution of contraceptives.
