On October 25, 1929: Groundbreaking for the construction of the Triborough Bridge began in Astoria Park. The bridge opened to traffic seven years later.

WHAT’S FOR DINNER?

On October 25, 1939: The Man Who Came to Dinner premiered at the Music Box Theatre. The comedy was later adapted as a film starring Monty Woolley, Bette Davis, and Ann Sheridan.
